    Conflicts are a normal part of every intensive relationship - be it in private or in professional life. I know numerous mediators and board members of mediation associations who have sought the support of a mediator even in difficult conflicts. I have also used the help of a mediator on several occasions in my own conflicts. Just as doctors get sick and psychotherapists know psychological challenges worthy of therapy, mediators also have conflicts.

Mediation is my core competence. It opens up a cooperative and constructive form of conflict management and decision making.
The aim of mediation is clarity. Clarity about observations and emotions:
At the observation level, I see my task as comparing the different perceptions, clearing up misunderstandings and determining where the "stumbling block" lies.
On the emotional level, I direct the parties to objectify their feelings: By calmly recognizing and naming allegations and feelings, they lose their explosive power.
Clarity about the observations and emotions of those involved is valuable knowledge: By making everyone involved clear, realistic, appropriate and long-term agreements can be made for the future. This strengthens the performance of everyone involved and the development of the company.
Clarity is the basis for human and efficient cooperation. However, mediation cannot guarantee harmony. Clarity can also lead to the certainty that the common ground is not strong enough and that separation is the best for everyone involved.

01about 5-15 minute conversation

We make calls for about 5-15 minutes so that we can get a first impression of each other. We can discuss questions that are on top of you. We can then arrange a 90-minute initial consultation if necessary.

02approx. 90-minute initial consultation

These 90 minutes are one for you non-binding initial consultation and at the same time the job clarification meeting for mediation. The following topics have proven useful for this initial consultation:
  • They give me an overview of the conflict situation. I also ask additional questions so that I know enough to be able to advise you well
  • I give you my recommendation on what mediation should look like in this situation: who should participate in mediation? How long does it take? How do I work as a mediator?
  • Costs (see above, Point 15)
  • What else is there to consider?
  • What is the next step?
This careful discussion offers the opportunity to get to know each other professionally and personally. It serves as a basis for both of us to decide whether to commission me with mediation and whether I accept the order.
